Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my website and possibly even finding out a bit more about me.
As you have probably already guessed my name is Kieran and I am a photographer living in beautiful Clonakilty, West Cork, Ireland.
I am a father of five gorgeous kids, yes five kids...
That was never part of the life plan :-)
Saying that I absolutely love and adore them all more and more every single day.
So I suppose I should start to mention awards, memberships, publications and ambassadorships but to be honest none of that is really me.
You have probably already seen my work in Aer Lingus, Lidl, Dunnes Stores, HSE, OPW, Super Valu, RBS, wildatlaticway.com, Swamp fashion, Ulster Bank, Discover Ireland, The Irish Times, Irish Independent, Irish Examiner... to name just a few places.
So who am I?
This is something I have tried to write numerous times over the years and failed miserably each time so let's just give brutal honesty a go. What could possibly go wrong?
I am the person who feels at home standing on the beach in the middle of winter, enjoying watching the waves rolling back and forth with the salty sea spray slowly covering me from head to toe.
Again possibly not the best impression to give possible future clients and I don't know if you have ever done this but everyone should give it a go at least once.
Dress up warm and go to the coast, sit on the rocks at a safe distance from the sea and just stop and listen to it for an hour or so. Really watch the water battle with the rocks and just switch off, no phones no schedules just you, mother nature and a bit of raw beauty.
Even better, bring a camera with you and take a few photographs. Just don't take any really good ones that's my job :-)
Now, this is the best part wait until you are leaving and lick your lips. You can actually taste the salt.
So that, in a nutshell, is me...
I am the rock sitting, lip licking photographer that loves interacting with people but also really enjoys the nature around me.
I am very unusual in that I equally love photographing people, products and landscapes. If you don't love what you do then you can never put your heart into it.
A very wise businessman once told me "to be truly good at something you have to love it, otherwise, you are just performing a task" this is something that has stuck in my mind and at the time I didn't get it, now I do.
Up until 3 or 4 years ago I never realised how methodical I was, I always thought I was very happy go lucky until someone asked me if I had OCD while we were doing a hectic product shoot.
God the laughs we had afterwards :-)
Between my systems and my routine procedures, I always found that once you're organised the shoots go really quickly and we fly through the product. Trust me I have done some absolutely mad photo shoots over the years, being organised really helps.
As regards my photography this is one of my greatest passions in life. I never ever consider it work it's always more of a privilege than anything else.
I hope this slightly mad but yet honest approach to this page doesn't put you off.
Lastly, I suppose I should say while I am a very easy-going, relaxed person I take each image very seriously behind it all. I have over the years found inner confidence that helps me relax in even the most demanding situations and still enjoy them.
